Heat Treat Cycle Simulation Software

The simulation software requires Windows ® 2000 or software that is more current than Windows ® 2000.

CarbCALC II™ is an software package designed to optimize a heat treat cycle knowing the type of steel, the furnace temperature, and the specifications for case depth and carbon at case depth. The sample screen below is the "preview" and the "start" screen for the simulation program. Once the data is correct, you start the simulation by clicking on the begin simulation button. The program begins to calculate the % carbon required to achieve the results that you have identified, showing elapsed time. At this point you can "STOP" the simulation, you can "PAUSE" the simulation, or you can return to the beginning, make changes, and "START" the simulation once again. The type of material, the shape and configuration of the work piece is entered from a "material database", or from the particular specifications of the material that is going to be run.
